Cabbagetown Short Film & Video Festival: Friday September 9, 2011, at 8 pm, Winchester Street Theatre. Featuring 16 films from around the world and around the corner – from Canada, Israel, Slovenia, Spain, Poland, the UK, and the USA. Tickets are $15. Advance tickets at the Cabbagetown BIA Office (237 Carlton St. at Parliament) and at the box office (80 Winchester) from 7 pm on September 9. Blair’s Run: A 3km mini-marathon to support the Cabbagetown Youth Centre held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, $10. Registration starts at 8:30 am and race time is 9:15 am.

The Riverdale Farm Fall Harvest Festival: From a day-long corn roast to a big city barn dance, enjoy the delights of the Riverdale Farm on Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11, 2011. www.toronto.ca/parks/riverdalefarm.htm.

September 11 Memorial: Sunday September 11 at noon. Winchester stage (Parliament & Winchester). Two groups of ex-pat Americans have organized a brief ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of September 11. There will be brief remarks, featured guests, and an opportunity to observe a moment of silence. .

Cabbagetown Theatre Company: Live theatre for families of all ages staged in the beautiful chapel at the Necropolis, on Winchester Street across from Riverdale Park, Friday (at 7:30 pm) Saturday & Sunday (noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm): Rapunzel – unbraided: a comedy for all ages. Walking Tours of Historic Cabbagetown: 45-minute walking tours conducted by knowledgeable local residents. Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11, 2011.

Art Around the Park: organized by the Don Vale Cabbagetown Residents Association, which features up to 32 artisans to exhibit their work and sell their wares along the DVCRA “Art Around the Park”..
